Keep Cool with Peppermint Essential Oil

Jul 29, 2018 08:49PM ● By Jen & Jeff Frey

Peppermint essential oil is a natural cooling agent to keep on hand during the warm summer months because it can add to the level of comfort felt indoors and out. To create a cool and invigorating space, diffuse three to four drops in a diffuser. Fill an ice tray with water and add one drop of doTERRA peppermint oil per ice cube. Add the minty cubes to water for an invigorating drink. To promote a cool and restful night’s sleep, add a few drops to a high-mist glass spray bottle and spritz the top sheet.

When planning to spend time outdoors, spray pulse points with the peppermint essential oil and water mixture. Start with the wrists and neck to cool down the whole body quickly. Move on to other pulse points behind the knee and near the ankle joint to continue the refreshing feeling. For a soothing after-sun treatment, add five drops of peppermint essential oil to five drops of lavender essential oil and four drops of vitamin E oil in a four-ounce glass spray bottle and top with witch hazel.

By staying hydrated, eating lighter meals, wearing clothes made of fabrics that breathe and allow perspiration to evaporate quickly and using peppermint essential oil, summer can be an enjoyable season for the whole family.
