Festival to Curb Addictions

Aug 30, 2018 07:56PM

Recovery Rising, an art & music festival to benefit addiction recovery, will take place from noon to 8 p.m., September 8, at Amethyst Retreat Center. There will be food, musicians, artists, artisans, vendors and a silent art auction, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to Just for Today Recovery, Veterans Support Services and The RASE Project. It is a chance for local artists and musicians to share their crafts and talents while bringing awareness and monetary assistance to those recovering from addictions.

The nonprofit Amethyst Retreat Center is a drug- and alcohol-free environment dedicated for more than 30 years to the evolution of human potential through creating the conditions for learning, healing and living in body, mind and spirit.

Admission is free and donations are welcome. Location: 44 Buffalo Creek Rd., Duncannon PA. For more information, call Karen Kovacs at 717 574-2654 or visit AmethystRetreatCenter.org.
