Smile Bigly on World Laughter Day

On May 5, World Laughter Day, the Joyful ViBRAYtions Laughter Yoga Club will celebrate from 8 to 9 a.m. at Springettsbury Park, in York. The Hustle 4 Hunger York Annual Walkathon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center (JCC). The first World Laughter Day celebration took place in 1998 in India, organized by Dr. Madan Kataria. There are now more than 6,000 laughter clubs in more than 110 countries.

The mission of World Laughter Day is to bring good health, joy and peace to the world through laughter. The celebration is a positive manifestation for world peace and is intended to build up a global consciousness of togetherness and friendship through laughter.

World Laughter Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide to raise awareness about laughter and its many healing benefits, as well as about thousands of laughter clubs around the world where people of all ages regularly gather to share in simple intentional laughter techniques that promote wellness and overall well-being.
