More Meditation in Carlisle

The Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple Pennsylvania, which had a soft opening in November at 51 North Pitt Street, in Carlisle, and a grand opening on March 30 with a large Buddhist celebration on Vesak Day and a peace parade, is offering weekly meditation classes at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays, 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, 6 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. Saturdays.

Bhante Soma, abbot of the temple, is a Buddhist monk from Sri Lanka who left home at the age of 10 to become a monk. He teaches the Buddhist philosophy and hosts the meditation classes. No experience with meditation is necessary. The temple hosts many other educational events, as well.
