No Need to Miss the Dauphin County Libraries

May 02, 2020 05:19PM ● By Dave Korba
Dauphin County Library locations remain closed until further notice, but County residents can find plenty of books, music, movies and more online at dcls.org. Library members are encouraged to keep any items they currently have checked out until the library re-opens. Due dates will be extended during closure. Any holds that were available for pick-up at the time of closure will remain at the libraries for pick-up.

Dauphin County residents can sign up at dcls.org/getcard. eBook and eAudiobook collections OverDrive and Hoopla can be accessed at dcls.org/ebooks. The new Book Advisor service can be requested at dcls.org/bookadvisor.

The library has added more than 4,000 titles to the “always available classics” and “always available indie authors” collections on OverDrive. For The Library in Your Home virtual programming on Facebook, visit Facebook.com/DCLS.PA and select Groups in the left sidebar to join. Adult programs include an online book club, television and film discussions, an armchair travel series, adult story times, and video tutorials for cooking and crafts. Children’s programs include Born to Read and Family story times, and frequent S.T.E.A.M. activities that can be enjoyed at home with supplies parents have on hand.
