The 37th Annual, 2021 Hospice& Community Care Labor Day auction will be held in person on September 4 and 6
at the Solanco Fairgrounds, in Quarryville. The
fun, family-friendly event is a fundraiser
that helps provide hospice, palliative, supportive and bereavement services to
patients and families, regardless of their ability to pay.
Participants can enjoy locally made
homemade delights like apple fritters, savory breakfast logs, smoky chicken
barbecue and refreshing, hand-spun milkshakes, available all day, beginning at
7:30 a.m. A Labor Day Auction Club pass is available upon a $100 tax-deductible
donation, providing unlimited food on both event days.
Auction items include vacations and
getaways, quilts, jewelry, art, sports memorabilia, plants, indoor furniture,
sheds and outdoor furniture. The Day of Care auction also provides an
opportunity to gift $192, the average cost of one day of care for someone in
need of hospice services. Donations of
newquilts, jewelry, tools, gift baskets, original art, gift cards and
vacation packages will be accepted through August 23.
Tickets for the 50/50 raffle can be
purchased online. Half of the net proceeds will go to the winner and the other
half will be used to provide personalized, quality care and comfort for
families facing end-of-life issues or coping with a serious illness or loss.
The winner will be announced from the fairgrounds at 4:30 p.m., September 6.
Participants do not need to be present to win.
