Natural Awakenings South Central Pennsylvania

Free Concerts to Benefit the River

The Rockin' for the River benefit concert series from 6 to 9 p.m., June 10, July 8 and August 18, at local outfitter Shank's Mare, will benefit Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper and Susquehanna National Heritage Area, which both work to preserve and enhance our beautiful Susquehanna River. Participants should bring lawn chairs and blankets for the lawn or come by kayak or boat and drop the hook in front of Shank's Mare. Performers include Plain Jane, The J. C. Fisher Band and 3 Dollar Suit.

Food trucks will donate a portion of their sales to the cause and volunteers will circulate among the crowd collecting donations and selling tickets for a kayak raffle. All proceeds will benefit the clean water efforts of The Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper and Susquehanna National Heritage Area, and maintain the historic tour boat, the Chief Uncas.

Admission is free, donations are welcome. Location: 2092 Long Level Rd., Wrightsville. For more information, call 717-252-1616 or visit Tinyurl.com/ShanksMareBenefit.
