Learn About Whole Grains from Dieticians

The Bosler Memorial Library will present a lunch and learn program, Whole Grains and Fiber, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., June 8, to introduce attendees to the health benefits of whole grains and their role in chronic disease prevention. There will also be a demonstration and taste-testing of a Mediterranean farro and bean salad.

 

Speakers include Nancy Routch, RD, LDN, the Penn State Extension educator in Cumberland County, specializing in food, families and health; Emma Witwer, the nutrition coordinator for Project Share; and Melissa Lockhart, a clinical dietitian for nutrition Services at UPMC Carlisle-Hospital Outpatient. Routch supervises the LIFT program and conducts nutrition, food preservation and food safety programming in the county.
