Studio Solomon will conduct an All-Level Master Drum Class with Iyedun Ince from noon to 2 p.m., December 17, as the work to rebuild and grow the drumming community continues.

 

Leigh Wisotzkey, owner/instructor at Studio Solomon, says, “Our community has always shown up to learn more and have the master class experience, but our ability to support visiting and master drum teachers really took a hit during COVID. This year, we’re fortunate to be able to leverage times when master drummers are already performing locally and make the studio a stop for a master drum class.”

 

Ince is a musician and folklorist born in Harlem. His father and uncle are percussionists, and his mother, a dancer, founded the International African American Ballet, where he received his first formal training in West African music and dance, and participated in his first performance at the age of 4.
