A Real CBD American Shaman

Michael Reisinger is co-owner of American Shaman of PA, which operates four CBD American Shaman retail store locations in Carlisle, Harrisburg, Lancaster and Mechanicsburg. The company is dedicated to educating consumers and bringing wellness to the world through ultra-concentrated, terpene-rich CBD oil derived from all natural, high-quality industrial hemp and delivered via affordable, cutting-edge products.

Reisinger’s story is full of unexpected and interesting twists, risks, loss, mistakes, lessons learned, failures and inspiring success. The man had addiction issues, and alcohol was his drug of choice until 2016 when a third DUI took him to a rehab center. “It wasn’t a choice, but it was my chance to get my kids back and show them that I was trying to change and get better,” he says.

He read a book by Dr. Joe Dispenza, “You are the Placebo,” just before entering rehab. “In essence, it reminded me of Henry Ford’s quote, ‘Whether you think you can or you think you can't—you're right.’ My mindset, determination and approach to rehab was going to determine my success or failure,” he relates. On a rollercoaster ride after rehab, Reisinger struggled, but success was finally his. Seven years of sobriety is something he is proud to celebrate today.

A friend invited Reisinger to work on a construction site in Texas. “I was going back to construction because it was what I knew. After a year, I realized why I got out. I'm not well-suited for it, and I needed to make a better income to be an entrepreneur and make enough money to live today and plan for tomorrow,” he says.

His next idea was buying an escape room amusement in Wichita, Kansas, but a trip there to investigate it proved fruitless. “I was there for five days, so I found a coffee shop with WI-FI to check out Wichita. Across the street was a CBD American Shaman. The rest, as they say, is history. The store owner gave me every piece of information he had on the benefits of CBD [cannabidiol, derived from the cannabis plant]. It took me five hours to get up enough courage to try the water-soluble CBD because I was afraid it was addictive. It was as if that last 10 percent of the inability to calm and keep my mind from catastrophizing was gone immediately. It scared the bejesus out of me because I thought I was high. I’d never felt more comfortable in my own skin. When the owner said, ‘You’re not high. It’s what it feels like to be rid of your anxiety,’ I knew right then and there I wanted everybody that ever suffered from anxiety and panic attacks to find relief with CBD, which also has so many other benefits.”

American Shaman CBD, the non-psychoactive part of marijuana that will not get people high, is legal in all 50 states and is derived from 100 percent organic, gluten-free, non-GMO hemp. It has no heavy metals or insecticides, and is batch tested using Ultra Performance Convergence Chromatography.

CBD is known to support and bring relief to the body and mind. This includes relieving stress, maintaining focus, pain management and more. Reisinger says, “We follow only the best industry standards, making our hemp oil the most effective and the highest quality on the market today. As a company, we are focused on the welfare of our customers and even provide a Compassionate Care program with discounts for those with chronic conditions, are low-income, or veterans. We offer competitive pricing and have a money-back guarantee policy. Perhaps what I'm most driven by is our commitment to education and customer service. Each person's search for relief is unique and the best way they can learn if and how CBD may be a good fit for their needs is with a visit to one of our stores. Our certified consultants educate every client and suggest in-store samples. It's our commitment to education and the in-store experience that sets us apart.”

Reisinger sums up, “Starting up wasn’t easy. My partners and I jumped through some serious hoops. We had to close one of our locations during COVID. We’ve persevered and have helped hundreds of people, and that’s really what this business is about.”
