Rachel Benbow, CST-T, LMT, MLIS—a certified emotional freedom technique (EFT) practitioner and owner of The Roots of Health, in Harrisburg—is offering a monthly EFT lecture-workshop designed to help participants address personal challenges. The January program, held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on January 15, 2026, will explore how EFT, also known as tapping, may support individuals as they work toward their New Year’s resolutions, particularly with maintaining motivation.
Participants will receive an introduction to EFT and learn basic techniques they can practice at home. According to Benbow, EFT is a “gentle process that involves using your fingertips to tap acupuncture points on the head, face and torso while thinking about a specific problem.” She says the method is intended to help the body’s meridian energy system rebalance and encourage the brain to “rewire” its typical patterns and responses to emotional or physical stress.
Benbow notes that EFT can be guided by a practitioner or used as a self-help tool and may offer lasting shifts in feelings, thoughts, memories and physical symptoms. EFT proponents point to a growing body of research suggesting the technique may be associated with reduced physical pain and stress, improved emotional regulation, decreased food cravings and support for motivation-related goals.
