Pawla’s Dog Training LLC offers in-home private dog training for puppies, adopted dogs and dogs with problematic behaviors throughout Harrisburg and surrounding communities. Led by certified trainer Paula Barker, the business focuses on positive reinforcement techniques designed to strengthen the relationship between dogs and their owners while addressing behavioral challenges.

Barker, who has more than 15 years of experience, provides one-on-one coaching tailored to each dog’s temperament, emotional state and training needs. Services include loose leash walking techniques, basic obedience training and behavior modification aimed at reducing reactivity and calming a dog’s nervous system.

Training sessions focus on both the dog and the owner, helping clients understand canine communication and behavior so they can reinforce training at home. Customized plans are developed for dogs of different ages, breeds and temperaments, including fearful or nervous dogs and those experiencing behavioral challenges inside or outside the home.

Barker also holds several professional credentials. She is a Certified TTouch Practitioner, a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and a certified service dog trainer. TTouch techniques emphasize regaining a dog’s mental, emotional and physical balance using groundwork, body wraps and specialized touches. She also serves as a dog training mentor for Animal Behavior College.

Pawla’s Dog Training plans to offer group classes for basic obedience and puppy training in the near future.
