Mechanicsburg Borough Prepares for Revitalized Earth Day Celebration
The Borough of Mechanicsburg invites residents and visitors alike to celebrate the environment at its annual Earth Day Festival taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 18, 2026, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Park. The lively, family-friendly event will feature a diverse marketplace of local vendors and environmental organizations. Guests will also be able to enjoy delicious offerings from food trucks and take part in activities designed for all ages. Highlights will include garden tours showcasing local volunteers, engaging educational sessions focused on sustainability and conservation, hands-on activities and crafts, and live entertainment throughout the day.
This year’s celebration is proudly presented through a collaborative effort between the Mechanicsburg Borough Recreation and Events Committee and the Mechanicsburg Borough Environmental Advisory Council.
“We are incredibly thankful for the legacy that has been created by Susanna Reppert over the last decade of hosting the event,” says Erica Hockenberry, Community Engagement Coordinator at Mechanicsburg Borough. Together, these groups are dedicated to creating an engaging festival that not only entertains but also inspires the community to discover simple ways to make a positive impact in their everyday lives.
“We are excited to keep Susanna’s legacy with the Earth Day Festival and continue educating and inspiring environmental stewardship in our community for many years to come,” says Luke Arnold, Parks and Environment Manager at Mechanicsburg Borough.
Join neighbors, friends and local organizations for a meaningful day that celebrates the beauty of our community and the importance of protecting it for generations to come.
