Homefields Earns $15,000 EcoGuardian Awards Recognition
Homefields—a Millersville nonprofit dedicated to providing meaningful work, inclusive housing and community for people with disabilities through organic farming—has received a total of $15,000 through the 2026 EcoGuardian Awards program from RES, a national nature-based solutions provider.
The organization was awarded a $5,000 EcoGuardian Award by RES leadership and an additional $10,000 EcoGuardian Leadership Award recognizing Homefields’ innovative approach to sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship and social impact. The nomination was submitted by Michael Zubak, a restoration technician at RES who also volunteers with and supports Homefields Care Farm.
“Homefields brings together two of the most important things for many people, helping both the environment and people,” says Zubak. “Through its work as an organic farm and community, Homefields provides meaningful opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities while producing food sustainably and giving back to the community.”
